Come volunteer at Blakey Hall Retirement Community!

Individuals of all walks of life participate in the process of volunteering at Blakey Hall – we even have some 4 legged ones!

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. All great reasons – and all goals you can accomplish by spending time at our community.

Birthday celebrations, holiday festivities, rainy Tuesday “break-the-gloom” craft sessions – we welcome your creativity, your skills and your kindness for our residents.

Want to bring your fur baby for pet therapy with our residents? Just confirm with the Administrative office ahead of time.

Plan on Visiting Us for Summertime

Have some extra time on your hands this summer? Not sure what to do with the kids?

Keep volunteering at Blakey in mind! We love seeing our local families participate in the fun over summer vacation. Often, our schedule is light because Elon students (a majority of our volunteers) are home between semesters, so call the office and let us know what you have in mind! You can organize an event in conjunction with our Activities Staff or just jump in to what we already have scheduled. We appreciate extra hands – and extra smiles!

We honor intergenerational involvement and hope that you’ll bring your kids to meet our residents and start building relationships with them.
