Join us in welcoming our new Executive Director: Ed Weeks.

Ed Weeks’ passion is working with seniors to provide an energetic and stimulating environment that allows his residents to thrive and live well. Ed believes that our elderly population is, unfortunately, the most neglected generation and believes that their accomplishments and life experiences should be honored and preserved.

Ed has had the opportunity to work in many areas of senior care in supportive services such as providing medical equipment, direct care, and facility ownership. Ed’s first job in assisted living was stripping and waxing floors. He gained a passion by association and continued to work in all areas of assisted living before edging his way to facility management.

Ed opened the first freestanding dementia care community in Cumberland County near Fayetteville, NC and also provided care for the areas residents suffering from behavioral health challenges. He later worked in New York City as a Community Sales Director for one of the nation’s top independent and assisted living communities. Ed has also served as a board member for the North Carolina Association for Long Term Care Facilities and served as District Vice President, where he was awarded the 2010 District Award for outstanding service for the assisted living industry.

Ed lives in Cary and enjoys spending time with his daughter who attends high school in the city. He is excited to plant roots in Elon, and is looking forward to this opportunity to become a part of the Blakey Hall team.
